Reacting to the chargesheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against IB officers in the Ishrat Jahan encounter case, Congress leader Arjun Modhwadia on Thursday said that it is a very sad that no action was taken against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and former Gujarat Home Minister Amit Shah and that the CBI was going at a snail's pace.
"This is a very sad thing. Narendra Modi ran a fake encounter against an innocent girl and Amit shah was monitoring the killings, there should be severe action taken against it," said Modhwadia.
"In Gujarat they punish people for even the smallest things. The CBI will have to show the evidence against Shah, and on that evidence a charge sheet should be filed against Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. The question is why is the CBI moving at snail's pace?" he saked.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had earlier filed a supplementary chargesheet in the alleged fake encounter case.
