Kerala on May 16 seems to be the only state that is not influenced by the Narendra Modi propaganda. Kerala shows a clear lead of Indian National Congress with lead in 8 seats, the only good news the party has managed to gain. Only one seat to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M)with 4 seats, Indian Union Muslim League with 2 seats. Kerala Congress (M) and Revolutionary Socialist Party each having a lead in one seat.

While Bharatiya Janata Party has a strong hold over almost every state, with a prominent lead in 70 seats and more in Uttar Pradesh. There seems to be no influence of the Modi campaign that has been attracting every form of Media over the last one year. Perhaps Modi did not manage to make an effor to go all the way down south to make a difference in this state.

Amongst the prominent leaders, Shashi Tharoor stands as a clear winner in his constituency Thiruvantampuram, after a tough fight from Rajagopal.
