RJD honcho Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son slams the CM’s ‘double standards’ over the IRCTC scam
Bihar's Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Monday slammed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his "double standard" and sought to know where was his "morality or antaraatma (conscience)" after a top CBI official had admitted to influencing the land-for-hotel scam against the Yadav clan.
Tejashwi, who is leading the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in the absence of his father and party president Lalu Prasad Yadav, reiterated that his family had been framed in the case.
"The CBI director has made it known that the PMO, CBI and Nitish's ambassador Sushil Modi were pressuring the CBI to lodge fake case against us. Where is Nitish Kumar's morality and conscience now? This is why people call Nitish Kumar the Bhishma Pitamah of moral, political and social corruption," wrote Tejashwi on Twitter.
He was referring to a new report quoting CBI director Alok Verma that CBI officer Rakesh Asthana, an officer in the PMO and Sushil Modi "worked together to frame Lalu and family".
Tejashwi also claimed that Nitish was not only aware of the CBI action against his family but had also given his consented for it. "That was the reason why he had left for Rajgir at that time," said Tejashwi, who was the deputy CM of Bihar under Nitish then.
The RJD leader said the people of Bihar are well aware of the frauds committed by both Nitish and Sushil Modi and they will soon be behind the bars. "Nitish only knows how to use others to come to power. There is no one he has not used for this purpose. People have already retired him politically," he said.
Tejashwi and his mother Rabri Devi appeared before the Patiala House Court in Delhi on Monday in connection with the ITCTC hotel for land scam, but the court was adjourned till December 20 as Lalu Prasad Yadav was not present.
