Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday issued an open 'Walk the Talk' with Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the latter spoke on corruption during his recent speech in Bengaluru on Sunday.

Taking to Twitter, Siddaramaiah said, “I am glad PM @narendramodi is talking about corruption. I now invite him to #WalktheTalk . For a start can you 1. Appoint Lok Pal, 2. Investigate #JudgeLoya ‘s death, 3. Investigate the astronomical rise of #Jayshah, 4. Appoint an untainted person as your CM candidate? (sic).”

On Sunday, PM Modi attacked the Congress Congress, alleging that the Karnataka government is setting new records in corruption, and said that the countdown for the exit of Congress government in the state has begun.

Modi also referred to the spate of killings of BJP and Hindu activists, an issue the party has brought to the focal point of its discourse, saying, "Ease of doing murders" was being discussed in the state while his government talked about ease of doing business.

Slamming the government on the law and order front, Modi said, "instead of the rule of law, the criminals are ruling the roost."

Responding the allegations, Siddaramaiah said that PM Modi's words should carry 'high credibility' while levelling any allegation against the state government.

Addressing media, the Chief Minister said, "Dear Narendra Modi, being the Prime Minister of the country your words should carry high credibility. I would, therefore, request you to substantiate your allegation that 'corruption and mis-governance are rampant in Karnataka' with facts."

Referring to Prime Minister's recent statement where he stated that 'countdown has begun for Karnataka government', Siddaramaiah hit back and said, "countdown for the Prime Minister has begun. Not for his government".

Stating that the Prime Minister was facilitating corruption, Siddaramaih said that the former is not morally fir to be the Prime Minister. He further asked the Prime Minister to fight the upcoming Karnataka Assembly Elections with dignity.
