Central intelligence agencies have warned anti-terror units in cities that a group of 20-21 terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) have entered in India, and are preparing to launch an attack.
The terrorists have entered into the country under the direction of ISI and are placed in Mumbai, Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan. "Their plan is carry out spectacular terrorist incident in India," said sources.
Considering the threat, the agency has issued an alert and advisory to all units of Delhi Police.
The advisory states tight monitoring and anti terror measures to be strengthen at metro stations, railway stations, airports, major crowded markets, hotels where tourists stay, religious places and stadiums in Delhi.
The agency has also directed police to carry out proper frisking and checking, and asked to increase security.
Earlier this month, a top US spymaster had said that Pakistan-based terrorist groups are planning to attack both India and Afghanistan.
"These groups will present a sustained threat to the United States's interest in the region and continue to plan and conduct attacks in India and Afghanistan," Daniel Coats, Director of National Intelligence had said.
