Seth writes that Peter was so smitten by Indrani that he left behind his then girlfriend Sapna with this friends and went away with Indrani.
In wake of the murky Sheena Bora murder case, well-known columnist and TV personality, Suhel Seth wrote about his first meeting with accused Indrani Mukerjea in a guest column on The Telegraph. Seth writes that he has known Peter Mukerjea for 25 years and recounts how Indrani and Peter met.
In the column, Seth writes that he first met Indrani at the The Library Bar at the President Hotel, where he was invited by Peter, Sumantra Dutta (a former STAR executive) and the late Murli Deora. Indrani was escorted by Alyque Padamsee.
At the time, Seth says Indrani was separated from her husband (not identified by name in the column) and also mentioned her daughter Vidhie.
Seth writes that Peter was so smitten by Indrani that he left behind his then girlfriend Sapna with this friends and went away with Indrani.
Two days later Seth got a call from Peter saying he was very serious about Indrani and was considering marrying her. The wedding took place 3 months later in their home at Pochkanwallah Road. Seth writes that only Vidhie attended the wedding from Indrani's side and none others from her family were seen.
Once Peter and Indrani started INX, Seth was in touch with less frequently. "Indrani, in the meanwhile, had morphed from this Calcutta girl to the Grand Dame of Bombay in her new avatar as a media tycoon," he writes.
A few years later, Indrani and Peter sold their venture and moved to the UK where Vidhie was studying. Seth recalls last seeing them three years ago when the couple visited Mumbai
Seth wrote characterises Indrani as "driven and deeply ambitious" and Peter as "the indulgent husband".
