Indian agencies are "desperate to malign our movement" and under a well-thought-out plan are devising policies to bring a bad name to the freedom struggle in Kashmir, Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik said in a joint statement.
They alleged that these agencies, with the active support of elements who are not affiliated with the movement, have chalked out a program for carrying their sinister designs.
"Groups like ISIS and Al-Qaeda are non existent in the state and that there is no role for these groups within our movement," they said adding "our movement is local in nature and indigenous in character".
Asserting that terrorism and freedom movements are poles apart, the separatists said "Indian agencies, by linking Kashmir's movement with some global organisations, are planning their roguish activities to influence the international community".
"Al-Qaeda and ISIS are involved in merciless killings.
Neither they are fighting against tyrant forces, nor they succeeded in realising Islamic jurisprudence in any part of the world," the statement said.
The separatist leaders said their activities have proved disadvantageous and detrimental for Muslims.
"Wherever the Muslim communities were fighting for their rights, these organisations instead of helping them, resorted to killing the very suppressed nations," they said referring to the gloomy situations in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Centre is frustrated and has launched a well-planned psychological war against the freedom movement in Kashmir, the statement added.
