Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Midnapore in West Bengal, a battery of Central leaders and ministers will visit the state to strengthen the organisational structure of BJP’s Bengal unit.
After Union Commerce and Industries minister Suresh Prabhu, Union minister Piyush Goyal will be in Kolkata on Monday. Apart from organisational meetings, he will attend an interactive session with industry heads on several issues including the completion of one year of GST implementation.
Sources said he would be clearing several confusions over the goods and service tax (GST) during the session. BJP sources also said that the leaders of the traders cell had been keeping in touch with leading industrialists of the state and had prepared an interaction session with the Union minister.
West Bengal BJP has intentions to go all out against the TMC government in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and thus apart from party national president Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, other ministers and leaders will visit the state to recharge party workers.
Earlier on Sunday, Prabhu had conducted a meeting with the party media cell. He had told members of the cell that they needed to counter the tactics of TMC-government which has taken over most of the media houses. To counter the attack on social media, there needed to be separate media cells at all Lok Sabha constituencies.
It has also been instructed to the state team to bring up members of newer generation and for that workers under the age of 30 from different districts should be utilised.
State BJP leaders have also been advised to participate in talk shows on television to reach out to the people in general and to raise issues against the state government and panellists have been advised to do their homework before partaking in these shows.
