BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday gave a thumbs up to the Khattar government in Haryana while accusing the Congress of having presided over a corrupt regime.
Alleging that central funds used to go down the "gutter of corruption" under the Congress rule, Shah said Khattar had provided Haryana with an honest and transparent government.
"Congress people ask us 'from where do you get so much money to give the state'. We tell them even they gave, but they distributed it among their cronies while we give it to the Haryana state," Shah said, addressing a 'Yuva Hunkar' (youth power) rally in Jind.
Besides the 63-year-old Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, many of his ministerial colleagues, party legislators and workers reached the venue riding motorcycles.
As BJP leaders claimed the participation of over a lakh bikers, the rally is being construed as an attempt to consolidate BJP's position among the Jat community that populates Jind and the adjoining areas of Rohtak and Sonepat.
