IAF demonstrates its fire power at Indo-Pak border

Exercise named Iron Fist— IAF showcased over 230 aircraft including about 100 of its front line fighter aircraft. Exercise was witnessed by the President Pranab Mukerjee, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh along with other dignitaries.

The Indian Air Force on Friday demonstrated its operational capabilities barely a hundred kilometre from the Indo-Pakistan border, in the deserts of the Pokharan Range of Jaisalmer.

Exercise named Iron Fist— IAF showcased  over 230 aircraft including about 100 of its  front line fighter aircraft. Exercise was witnessed by the President Pranab Mukerjee, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh along with other dignitaries.

Fighter aircraft like  Su-30 MKI, Mirage-2000, Jaguar, MiG-21,MiG-27, MiG-29 and Hawks. Besides fighter,transport aircraft including C130J, AN-32, Embraer and IL-76 also participated. While newly inducted Mi-17 V5 and other russian made Mi-8, Mi-17 1V and Mi 35 attack helicopters also performed.

The Sarang  Helicopter Aerobatic Display Team and   low level aerobatics by SU-30 aircraft added attraction to the event.

For the first time, surface to air missile systems were also showed.
