From developing a language laboratory for students in Jharkhand, to improving their English language skills, to introducing a new yoga lab for students at Sanskrit University in Uttarakhand, the Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Prakash Javadekar launched many projects under Rashtriya Ucchtar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) on Monday.
The Minister launched a portal and mobile app of RUSA, where schemes run by various states for higher education would be tracked.
At the launch event, 17 projects from 14 states were launched. "Under the concept of RUSA the quality of education can go up by improving the research labs infrastructure and creating smart class rooms and various other programmes by which the quality enhancement and value addition to the students happen," said HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar.
Among various projects that were launched on Monday, is the language laboratory in Jharkhand for students who are not well-versed in English language.
The Digital Language Laboratory has been developed in Ghatsila College, which is a constituent unit of Kolhan University in Singhbhum.
"This support to the students of East Singhbhum will bring them at par with other counterparts in state and country," said an education officer from Jharkhand.
Around 2,000 undergraduate and 1,000 postgraduate students in Ghatsila college would benefit.
