Come Thursday, paradise will come alive with the record-breaking largest iftar.

Thanks to loudbettle.in, more than 5000 people will join Kashmir's largest iftar.

This will be second time when the history will be created in Jammu and Kashmir. Last year, Kashmir valley created history by hosting Asia's longest iftar on the banks of world famous Dal lake. Spread over 1.6 kilometres, the iftar dastarkhawan (dining spread) surpassed the earlier Asia's longest iftar table measuring 1.03 kilometres laid out near Al Noor Mosque in Sharjah in 2013.

The organisers are creating another record by hosting Kashmir's largest iftar, this year. "There is no guest list. Anybody can walk in and join the iftar on Thursday. Everything is free. We are serving meals to the 5,000 expected guests," Ahmer Khan, chief executive officer (CEO) of loudbettle.in told dna.

Sponsored by the local traders and companies, the idea behind the event is to foster brotherhood in the holy month of Ramzan. "It is community get together. Holy month of Ramzan is known for the festivals. So we are trying to send across a message of brotherhood by hosting Kashmir's largest iftar", said Khan.

From juice, to biscuits to dates to ferni (dessert), the menu has carefully chosen to suit the taste buds of the people in the fasting month. "In fact we are encouraged by success of Asia's longest iftar hosted last year. So this time we have taken the menu forward," said Khan.

The event will start with the talk of Ulema (Islamic preachers) and followed by iftar. Guests will be sitting on the dastarkhawan (dining spread) that will be laid on the ground. The volunteers will be serving the refreshments to the guests who would be joining the iftar.

Local companies have chipped in with their contributions to make this Kashmir's largest iftar a grand success. "This time we are not here to create or break records. It is a non-profit event. Local sponsors have pitched in with their help. Some have donated cash, some have donated potable water, some have given juices. Everyone has contributed in their own way. Everyone, be it rich or poor, is welcome to join the iftar," said Khan.
