Haryana: Five people sleeping on footpath crushed to death, nine injured in Hisar

At least five people were mowed down by a car and nine others were injured on Tuesday late night in Haryana's Hisar.

The incident took place at around 2:00 am when workers were sleeping on flyover's footpath.

A car, which was headed to Hansi, dashed against the divider of the overbridge and ran over the labourers who were sleeping on a footpath, the police said.

The vehicle which killed the people also fell from the flyover. The deceased were residents of Bihar's Saharsa and Khagaria districts.

Police have begun the investigation into the matter.

The injured have been admitted to the civil hospital here and a case has been registered in the matter
