Within 30 minutes of reaching school, a class II student is found murdered inside school toilet. His blood-soaked shirt and deep gash tell the horror tale.
The Gurugram Police has arrested a bus conductor of Ryan International School in connection with the murder of a 7-year-old student inside the campus premises. The police also said the bus conductor claimed that he had tried to sexually assault the class II student on earlier on Thursday also.
Haryana DCP Simardeep Singh while confirming the arrest said the bus conductor murdered the child after he resisted the sexual assault.
The body of Pradhuman Thakur with two deep cuts going up to his ear lying in the pool of blood showed the sheer brutality with which the 7-year-old was allegedly murdered.
The class II student of Gurugram's Ryan International School, who was dropped off by his father Varun Thakur at around 7:30 am on Friday, was found dead inside the school's toilet half an hour later at 8 am by the school authorities. A knife with a wooden handle was recovered from the spot.
With the latest arrest, the police will now be able to know what exactly happened in those 30 minutes.
Though the school authorities say that the CCTV footages of two cameras installed near the toilet have been given to police, the sources said that the cameras were not functioning.
“Why no action has been taken till now,” asked Varun Thakur who is still coming to the terms of loss of his child.
His elder daughter also studies in the same school. Other parents have also come together and have shown support for the victim's family.
While the anger is still there, most are worried and stunned by the alleged murder.
“If children are murdered inside schools, how can we leave them there for eight hours,” Varun Thakur was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
The Gurugram police has filed an FIR against 'unknown' people in the case. Over a dozen people were rounded up for the interrogation.
Last year, a six-year-old student was found dead in a water tank under the Vasant Kunj campus of Ryan International School's amphitheater.
