An employee of a fastfood joint in Gandhinagar has alleged that he was assaulted by Gujarat minister of state for Animal Husbandry Purshottam Solanki's son and his friends.

However, the complaint filed by the victim Sujal Shah does not contain anyone's name as he claims that by-standers told him that one of the assailants was Solanki's son whom he does not know personally. The CCTV footage of the incident shows Shah being mercilessly punched by some youngsters.

In his complaint to Sector-21 police on Thursday, Shah, who works at Jay Bhavani Vada Pav centre, said a youngster came when he was attending to customers yesterday afternoon. "I asked him what he wants (from the menu). However, he might have got me wrong....he and some others started beating me and then left in their Innova," Shah told news channels.

He was admitted to a hospital and lodged a complaint against four to five unidentified men. "I don't know them, but I was told by some of the eye-witnesses that one of the persons was Solanki's son and others were his supporters," Shah said.

"Shah doesn't know Solanki or his son. His complaint also doesn't have any names. However, he told me that he can recognise their faces. So we will examine the CCTV footage once again to identify the faces," said inspector B A Chavda of Sector 21 police station.
