The Congress came out with an exhaustive report which indicates at a major scam by the state government with the Gujarat State Petrolium Corporation (GSPC). Congress leader Randeep Surjewala questioned why Modi should not be investigated for the GSPC scam?

Elaborating on the scam worth Rs20,000 crore, Surjewala said, “Zero gas and loot gaya Gujarat ka cash (zero gas and Gujrat’s cash is robbed) is all we can say about the GSPC scam. The BJP-run Gujarat government has looted public money but there is no gas even after spending crores. I demand an independent inquiry into the scam,” said Surjewala.

“Looking at the balance sheet of the GSPC’s accounts, shocking revelations of foreign exchange has come out. The amount spent by the GSPC after foreign exchange is Rs 10,651.80 crore, which has been mentioned for the same and isn’t shown in the profit and loss account.  Why is this so?” asked Surjewala. “Foreign exchange worth Rs 372.32 crore is shown as miscellaneous expenses. This sudden increase in the GSPC account on foreign exchange points to a scam and I demand an inquiry by the Supreme Court,” he said.
