Goods train derails, delays Konkan route

One wheel of a goods train derailed between Adavali and Nivsar stations at 03:30 hrs today. Following which, six passenger trains were regulated at various stations on Konkan Railway route and are running one to two hours late.

The affected wagon was re-railed at 06:36 hrs and the traffic has been restarted. None of the other passenger carrying trains are likely to be affected. The 6 trains are:

16333 Veraval - Thiruvananthapuram Exp
12133 CSTM - Mangalore Jn Exp 
10111 Konkankanya Exp 11003 Dadar - Sawantwadi Rajya Rani Exp 
12202 Kochuveli - LTT Garib Rath 
12617 Ernakulam - Hazrat Nizamuddin Mangala Exp

The officials of Konkan Railway rushed to the spot of derailment and effected an expeditious restoration of the traffic. 

Prima Facie cause of the derailment is not yet known, said a statement from the Konkan railway authorities.
