Updated : Apr 04, 2017, 10:41 AM IST
The Holy festival of Ram Navami is being celebrated across the country on Tuesday. The festival which celebrates the birth of Lord Rama as per Hindu mythology, falls on the ninth day of Navratri.
He is considered to be seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He is best known for the many ideals he had besides killing the demon kind Ravana and shedding the world of evil.
RSS in West Bengal, however has planned to celebrate the festival on April 5 in a big way to "unite" the Hindus "It (Ram Navami) is a religious festival but through it we plan to organise the Hindus and unite them against the fundamentalist forces," a RSS functionary here said.
Ram Navami sees elaborate celebrations across the country on this day by Hindus mostly.
