The friend of the 23-year-old Delhi woman who was gang raped and thrown out of a moving bus on the night of December 16 testified before a fast track court on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old software engineer arrived at additional sessions judge Yogesh Khanna’s court on a wheelchair after he was summoned as a prosecution witness. “My son will go to any lengths to ensure the guilty are punished,” his father said.

The man also identified the bus in which the woman was gang raped and they were brutally beaten up. Defence lawyers will cross-examine him on Wednesday.

The judge has banned any kind of reporting from inside the courtroom and has asked lawyers not to speak to journalists.

Beside the woman’s friend, the court has summoned three other prosecution witnesses.
The Delhi police has filed its supplementary chargesheet, including the post-mortem report.
