Four of a family perish in car, truck mishap near Mathura on Yamuna Expressway

They were all residents of Jajmau in Kanpur and were headed to Delhi when the accident took place

Four persons of a family, including two women, were killed while two others sustained serious injuries when their car rammed into a stationed truck near 113 Miletsone near Mathura on Yamuna Expressway on Sunday morning.

The accident took place in Raya area of Mathura early on Sunday when a speeding Santro rammed into a stationed truck. The impact was such that the car was found entangled at the back of the truck. The police and Yamuna Expressway staff members had to cut he front portion of the car out to pull the victims. Four of them, including Abdul Rais, his mother Shahjahan Begum, Shanshah Begum and Musafir Ali succumbed on the spot.

Meanwhile, Abdul Wahid and Mohammad Imamuddin sustained serious injuries in the accident and were rushed to a hospital. They were all residents of Jajmau in Kanpur and were headed to Delhi when the accident took place.

The police has registered a case and sent the bodies for postmortem. Family members of the victims have been informed in Kanpur about the accident.
