Four districts in flood zone

More than 100 mm rains were recorded in the last 24 hours at 10 stations in the state while 46 received more than 50 mm.

Abnormal rainfall in districts of Sirohi, Jalore, Pali and Barmer has created flood like situation at several places in the districts. Water logging has blocked several major roads; four in Sirohi, two in Jalore, and one each in Pali and Jodhpur remained blocked on Wednesday.

More than 100 mm rains were recorded in the last 24 hours at 10 stations in the state while 46 received more than 50 mm. The state has received 38 per cent more rainfall leading to flood-like situation and landslides. Sirohi is the worst hit with 1,971 mm of rains in 96 hours.

During the day the NDRF teams rescued one person at Rajsamad district after an operation that lasted for more than 9 hours. Before this, the NDRF had rescued two from a flooded farm in the district. More than 50 people are reported stranded in flood at Sanchor area of Jalore, 9 of them were rescued on Wednesday.

A rockslide at Abu Road, Sirohi cut off the hill station's road link with nearly 2,000 tourists stranded there.

As large boulders kept blocking the road the supply of essential items to the hill station was also affected. The boulders were removed by the district administration after hours of exercise.

The situation at Barmer though improved as rain showers slowed on Wednesday, the gudamalani region of the district has been flood affected and nearly 7 people have died over past week.
