A special squad of women troops has been deployed deep inside jungles of Maoist inflicted areas to undertake operations against Naxalites.

India has become one of those few countries to deploy women personnel to combat situations in one of the most violent areas of conflict.

According to reports, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has recently sent two small squads of its women commandos to fight the red ultras shoulder-to-shoulder with their male colleagues.

Earlier, the CRPF had said that it is ready to face any eventuality during the November-December assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand.

It had also said that the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (COBRA) unit of the CRPF is actively working in Maoists afflicted areas of Jharkhand, and has arrested over 1300 extremists and killed 66 during operations.
