Few takers for tracker installation tenders

The process of installation of active tracker in ultrasound machines is pending for about a year due to delay in tender process.

Taking advantage of this, the sonography centers of the city are performing sex determination tests as proved from the recent findings of the surprise inspection conducted at a diagnostic center in Vijay Nagar. Collector Akash Tripathi had expressed determination to strictly implement the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PC&PNDT) Act immediately after taking charge last year.

The tender process was initiated and contract was given to Pune based company named Opus IT Consulting Private Limited in January this year. The company installed first active tracker at MY Hospital but could not continue further. The contract was cancelled as objections were raised on tender process.

It was said that there were only two bidders & hence tender process should have been cancelled. Fresh tenders were floated in May but once again the process could not be completed due to less number of bidders. Collector said that the process is likely to be completed soon and installation will be started immediately after contract is awarded.
