Rehabilitation of villages located in the vicinity of Tipeshwar Wildlife Sanctuary in the district will be expedited, Maharashtra Social Justice Minister Shivajirao Moghe has said.
He was addressing a meeting attended by officials of various departments involved in rehabilitation and development of such villages here yesterday.
The sanctuary in Kelapur tehsil consists of a compact patch of dense forest cover and has a great significance from the point of view of wildlife and bio-diversity conservation.
District Collector Ashwin Mudgal, Additional Collector Dnyanesh Bhat and ZP Member Yogesh Parvekar were among those who attended the meeting.
Tipeshwar Van and Tipeshwar are the two rehabilitated villages, where development works are in progress.
Moghe, the MLA from Kelapur-Arni constituency in the district, asked the officers to ensure the villages are provided with safe and uninterrupted supply of drinking water, good roads, school and electricity, among other facilities.
