The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached properties of the accused in connection with the 2010 Commonwealth Games scam under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA).
Post the games, many scams had come to light with the Central Vigilance Commission, in an investigation of 18 projects related to alleged irregularities in organising the Games, finding fraud in the sale of ticket. Accordingly, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered cases against the accused.
In 2010, after the Commonwealth Games concluded, various scams involving pilferage of around Rs 70,000 crore were revealed.

On Friday, ED attached proceeds of crime under PMLA, amounting to Rs 36.6 lakh, in the form of immovable property — a flat situated at East of Kailash belonging to Raja Aederi Consultants Pvt. Ltd. The firm was fraudulently given consultancy contracts for up-gradation and renovation of Shivaji Stadium and Talkatora Stadium during Commonwealth Games.
Investigation was initiated on the basis of an FIR filed by the CBI. Subsequently, CBI had filed a charge sheet against Raja Aederi, Director, Raja Aederi Consultants Pvt Ltd and Uday Shankar Bhat, Executive Director, and officials of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).
The trial court, in its judgement, held Aederi and Bhat guilty for the offences committed by them in connection with the case.
Investigation revealed that Raja Aederi Consultants Pvt. Ltd. had submitted false documents to NDMC in order to obtain four contracts worth Rs. 50 lakh to Rs. one crore each for renovation of both the stadiums.
They were given the work amounting to Rs. 4.25 crores for a five-storey building with two basements at both the stadiums. Contracts amounting to Rs. 5.25 crore were fraudulently given to Raja Aederi Consultants Pvt. Ltd.
A movable property amounting to Rs 94 lakh lying with NDMC belonging to Raja Aederi Consultants Pvt. Ltd. was attached in June 2019.
