Eman has been destroyed, everything was a lie: Sis

In a video that has been uploaded to the internet, Eman’s sister Shaimaa Selim has called bariatric surgeon Dr Muffazal Lakdawala a “liar” and has alleged that the hospital is not equipped to handle the case. In the English-subtitled video, Shaimaa, speaking in Arabic, says that Eman is not able to move and looks bluish. “She does not talk at all. She is not able to move and she looks bluish. No improvement,” she says.

“Everything was a lie,” she adds, as she walks around the room in Saifee Hospital. Eman is also seen in the video. Eman had suffered from a stroke three years back as a result of which she suffers seizures several times a day.

“Eman is in critical condition since the past one-and-a-half months. She is on massive medications to stop the brain acitvity,” Shaimaa alleges. “They said they will arrange for a CT scan. The hospital is not equipped to handle such a case. She (Eman) didn’t lose 240 or 260 kgs. She is really helpless to leave this place,” Shaimaa alleges in the video. “Dr Mufazzal (Lakdawala, bariatric surgeon) cheated us.”

Dr Lakdawala, however, denied the allegations, instead claiming that Shaimaa has been threatening the hospital that she wouldn’t take Eman back and has been demanding money.

“The entire story is fabricated,” he told DNA.

WHAT THE SAIFEE HOSPITAL SAYS

• Eman used to have convulsions and we believe she has scar epilepsy.
