Eknath Shinde visits Nashik district to inspect crop losses

Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly Eknath Shinde and fellow Shiv Sena leader Ramdas Kadam visited Nashik on Friday to take a stock of the crop losses due to the last week's unseasonal rains. They visited grape and pomegranate plantations in Pimpalgaon Baswant.

Talking to reporters, Shinde demanded that the state government provide financial assistance to the affected farmers within a week, before the winter session of Assembly starts. Terms of the crop insurance should be changed, he said.

He also demanded changes in the present anewari system of measuring crop losses.
