EC issues notice to six political parties including AAP for not filing expenditure statements for LS polls

 The Election Commission has issued a show cause notice to six political parties for not filing their expenditure statements for the last Lok Sabha polls.

 The Election Commission has issued a show cause notice to six political parties for not filing their expenditure statements for the last Lok Sabha polls.

Besides the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the list includes names of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Haryana Janhit Congress, National People Party of Manipur, Peoples Party of Arunachal and Kerala Congress (M).

Earlier on Wednesday, the commission had asked them to file their expenditure statement within 20 days. The Commission had also said that if the parties failed to comply with its order, it will suspend or withdraw their recognition.
