1) Uri Attack | PM's high-level meet gives nod to ‘diplomatically isolate’ Pakistan, says report

A high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and attended by top ministers and other officials over the deadly terror attack in Uri has reportedly given its nod to isolate Pakistan at every international grouping. Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag besides other senior officials attended the meeting.

India has reacted strongly to the deadliest attack on the army in Jammu and Kashmir in a quarter-century-old insurgency that sparked an outrage, with the Prime Minister strongly condemning it. "We strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack in Uri. I assure the nation that those behind this despicable attack will not go unpunished," PM Modi said on Sunday, after the attack." See more...

2) New York explosions: Authorities identify suspect, warn he could be 'armed and dangerous'

Authorities have identified a suspect in the Manhattan explosion case as a 28-year-old New Jersey resident of Afghan descent who may be armed and dangerous, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said on Monday. The New York Police Department released a photo of Ahmad Khan Rahami, who was wanted for questioning in the Saturday night explosions in Manhattan's Chelsea neighbourhood. See more...

3) Baloch leader Brahamdagh Bugti to formally apply for asylum in India

Exiled Baloch leader Brahamdagh Bugti, who has been at the forefront of the Baloch movement against Pakistan, on Monday said he will soon apply for asylum in India.

Bugti is currently living in exile in Switzerland. He also said his Baloch Republican Party has decided to approach the International Criminal Court against Pakistani army generals. Bugti said Baloch Republican Party has also decided to file case against China at the International Court of Justice and to do it, the party will approach India, Afghanistan and Bangladesh for help. 4) Kashmiri student expelled from AMU over 'objectionable' post on Uri attack

Kashmiri student was on Monday expelled from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) for posting 'objectionable' comments on Facebook over the terror attack on the army base in Uri. The student, Mudassar Yusuf from Srinagar, had offered his apologies to the Vice Chancellor on Sunday for posting the comments stating that he was "carried away by sentiments", according to university sources. However, the university authorities decided to go ahead with his expulsion keeping in view the sensitivity of the matter.  See more...
