On February 14, a parody video of India ranked as the second best country after the United States was doing the rounds on social media.

The video shared by Flysauce, a Mumbai-based company owned by media entrepreneur Roopak Saluja, has been shared over 1,200 times on Facebook and viewed over 1.5 lakh times on YouTube.

After the Dutch video making fun of US President Donald Trump went viral, a number of European nations soon followed suit. A series of ‘alternative facts’ were presented in a Trump-ish voice to add more value to the videos.

While speaking to DNA, Saluja said that the team decided to go ahead with making the video on the evening of February 11. “We wanted to get the video ready by February 14 and share it as a Valentine’s Day gift,” he said.

Hailed as a Valentine’s Day present from the people of India, the video addresses several reasons why India is the second best country in the world after the United States.

The highlight of the video is of course the narrator, who speaks to Donald Trump in a Trump-ish voice. “We did a bit of research and found that there were two Trump impersonators in the world. We got in touch with Shaun Steer, who agreed to do the video,” said Saluja.

Steer begins the video with, “Namaste, Mr. President. This is a Valentine’s Day gift from India.” While explaining why India is second best, Steer adds, “We are the second most populated nation in the world and Delhi is the second most polluted city in the world.”

Other excerpts include explaining why Bappi Lahri has more gold than Michael Phelps and ‘alternative facts’ on why “Pakistan is a lovely, lovely country.”

“We did have a lot of innuendoes in the video, but we didn’t want to cross the line in case someone got offended. We could have put everything up in a day, but we decided to look at every aspect of the video before making it live. We’re glad we waited and the results show it,” added Saluja.
