DMK Treasurer M K Stalin on Saturday sent a legal notice to MDMK founder Vaiko for his alleged remarks against the former in connection with the 2G spectrum allocation scam.

In the notice sent to Vaiko through his counsel, Stalin sought "unconditional apology" from the former within three days of receipt of the notice for making "defamatory statement" about him while speaking to the media on the 2G spectrum allocation scam in Madurai on Friday.

The remarks were 'perse defamatory' and was "made with an intention to bring bad reputation to our client among the general public," it said while seeking an apology.

"...failing which our client (Stalin) would be constrained to initiate legal proceedings, both civil and criminal against you," Stalin's counsel R Neelakandan said in the notice.

Stalin's demanding an apology from Vaiko comes a day after his father and DMK President M Karunanidhi served a legal notice on the MDMK founder for alleging that the party had offered money to DMDK over forging electoral alliance.

DMDK has since tied up with Vaiko-led People's Welfare Front (PWF) for the May 16 Assembly polls.
