Delhi will answer to BJP's violence, says AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal

Asserting that last night's clashes reflected nervousness on the part of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said that the people would give a befitting reply to the lotus in the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls.

"If they think that they will win the elections by resorting to violence, they should know the citizens of Delhi are watching them. The people of Delhi will take revenge of the act during the elections," said Kejriwal.

The former Delhi chief minister said the video clips clearly showed how the BJP supporters attacked AAP workers and burnt the car of a party worker.

"The video clips show a clear picture of how the BJP attacked AAP workers and how they burnt the car. The BJP supporters are saying that we have beaten ourselves. Would we beat ourselves unconsciously like that and then go to the ICU? Is this worth believing?" he added.

BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi had earlier on Saturday said that the clash was a result of AAP's frustration.

"Why is AAP trying to disrupt our public if they think that the BJP is frightened? Why are they trying to enter in our programme? Rather they have tried to create disturbance in our programme. They are frustrated. They were thinking that politics is a cakewalk but they have come to know that they cannot run politics like this," said Lekhi.

AAP spokesperson Ashutosh, however, said that it was the BJP's nature to spread violence.

Violent clashes between the members of the AAP and the BJP in Tughlakabad on Saturday led to a slew of accusations between the leaders of both parties.
