Delhi shocker: Biker dies after police barricade wire slits his throat, 7 cops suspended

The victim's mother has called for a strict action against those responsible for the incident.

In a disturbing incident, a 21-year-old biker was killed on Thursday after he crashed into an iron wire used to tie two police barricades cut through his neck and slit his throat in north west Delhi's Netaji Subhash Place.

"There were two barricades in the road which were tied to each other by a wire. There was no light when he was coming towards the barricades and the wire hit him," Sunil, a relative of the victim said.

"He succumbed to his injuries a little while after being hit. There was no police officer placed at this place and it was the locals who tried to help him. There should have been a PCR van over here. Fifteen minutes before this incident, another man was also hit by the wire and he got a scar from the wire," the relative added.

 

 

The victim's mother has called for a strict action against those responsible for the incident.

"My boy wanted to join the police forces and the police force has taken his life. He had gone to attend a wedding in Delhi and while coming back to his home, this incident took place. I demand punishment for those who are responsible," the mother said.

A complaint has been registered with the Delhi Police under section 304A of Indian Penal Code (causing death by negligence).

Around seven people, including beat constables and division officers, have been suspended in related to the case. The police are currently investigation the case.
