It was a humid day in Delhi on Sunday with the maximum temperature settling at 32.7 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average.

According to the MeT department, the humidity level oscillated between 97 per cent and 65 per cent.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 25 degrees Celsius, which was also a notch below the season's average.

The Safdarjung observatory -- the recording of which is considered official for the city -- registered 5.8 mm of rainfall during the past 24 hour ending at 8.30 am.

The weatherman has predicted generally cloudy sky with light rain and thundershowers for Monday, and the minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to settle around 26 degrees and 33 degrees Celsius respectively.

The minimum temperature Saturday was recorded at 25 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature was 34 degrees Celsius.

Earlier on Friday, heavy rains lashed parts of the national capital, causing traffic congestion at major intersections across the city and flight diversions from the IGI airport.

The downpour brought respite from the humidity, while causing waterlogging in many areas. Due to traffic, the cab fares have hit the roof. They charged doubled the usual amount. And that is not all, the average waiting time for cabs showed more than 15 minutes.

So, the Monday office goers should make sure to all come out of your home before the usual time to reach office on time as there is a possibility of waterlogging and traffic congestions due to thundershowers and rain on Monday.
