Delhi Lt Governor Najeeb Jung reviews functioning of night shelters

Delhi's Lt Governor Najeeb Jung on Tuesday reviewed the functioning of night shelters across the national capital.

Jung directed the Deputy Commissioners of Revenue department to monitor the management of the night shelters by the NGOs and ensure functioning toilets, adequate water supply and cleanliness.

Jung wanted requisite coordination with all concerned departments so that people in need get basic facilities in the forthcoming monsoon and winter season.

The meeting was attended by Senior Officers of all concerned Departments and the Deputy Commissioners. CEO of Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) briefed the Lt Governor on the status of Night Shelters and informed Jung that tents at the night shelters have been replaced by porta cabins.

Jung particularly stressed on adequate number of clean toilets and asked the officers to take necessary steps to prevent mosquito breeding in the area.
