Dehradun: Mentally challenged man kills mother, brother

A 31-year-old mentally challenged man allegedly killed three members of his family, including his mother, with a sword at Gaja devision in Tehri district on Saturday, police said. The accused killed his mother Meena Devi (58), younger brother Surendra (27) and his wife Kanta (24), they said.

Naib tehsildar Gandhir Singh of Gaja block said the man suddenly attacked his mother Meena and killed her. The accused then killed his younger brother and wife when they rushed to save Meena.

Following the incident, the accused locked himself in a room. The tehsildar said the accused has the sword with which he committed the crime and a loaded pistol in his possession.
