New Noida Authority CEO fulfils his promise of uploading defaulters’ list within two months of joining

Based on the instructions of Amit Mohan Prasad, the newly appointed CEO of Noida Authority, the body has uploaded a list of 91 defaulting housing project groups on their official website. The defaulters haven’t cleared dues worth Rs 9,993 crore.
After becoming the CEO, Prasad had promised to make the name of defaulters public, and has fulfilled this promise in less than two months of his joining.
This move came as a huge relief for the home buyers since past governments and CEOs had not been paying any heed to their repeated pleas. In fact, most claimed that previous CEOs maintained a pro-developer stance.
Noida Authority issues a completion certificate to developers only after they clear all dues. However, many developers have cheated Noida Authority and home buyers and allowed the latter to stay in societies that did not have completion certificates. These societies, both in Noida and Greater Noida, are often plagued with multiple issues like non-functional lifts, illegal structures, encroachments in emergency areas, etc.
“As public servants, we are committed to working for the public. The home buyers had long been demanding the list of defaulters to be put up on our website. We catered to this demand. In future too, we will continue to work for the betterment of the people, as well as improving our financial condition and turning Noida into a world-class city,” said Prasad.
“Past governments have refrained from sharing defaulter list with the public. There was a close nexus between the authority officials and developers. Our voices used to get completely suppressed. We want to convey our heartfelt gratitude to the new CEO for addressing our issue and keeping his promise,” said Amit Gupta, a home buyer.
