“I am challenging those who are telling Muslims to go to Pakistan to declare Modi (Nirav) and Mallya as financial terrorist who have looted our motherland,” president of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen said on Saturday.
The Member of Parliament was in Pune to hold a public rally to oppose Triple Talaq bill proposed by the central government. Before his rally, thousands of Muslim women carried out a march in the city to oppose the Tripple Talaq bill.
While addressing the rally, Owaisi stated that the proposed bill is not for the betterment of Muslim women but to target entire Muslim community in India by interfering in Shariya law. Owaisi also stated that for last 70 years, Muslims are being asked to prove their patriotism but on the other hand none of the persons who fled away from the country by taking away thousands of crore of country’s money were Muslim.
“We do not have any affection for Pakistan but since last 70 years, Muslims in India are being told to go to Pakistan. However, if we see some of the biggest scams in India, be it Harshad Mehta, Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi or Mehul Choksi, none of these scamsters are Muslim. These scamsters have looted the motherland and now they have fled away. I am challenging the present government to declare them financial terrorist and take action against them,” Owaisi said.
Speaking about the Triple Talaq bill which is waiting for a floor test Rajya Sabha, Owaisi stated that under the garb of the bill, the central government is trying to interfere in shariya law. “The laws do not convert the ill mentality of people and make them human. After the Nirbhaya case also, new law was enacted but has that stopped rapes?”
“Even we are opposing Triple Talaq and Muslim personal law is trying its best to reach out to people to create awareness against the system of Triple Talaq. However, the government’s aim of introducing this law is to send Muslim men behind bars and force women to come on road,” he said.
