"Arun Jaitley will come through with flying colours in the same manner as L K Advani did in Hawala case," the Prime Minister said at a weekly meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Party.
Reacting to the District Cricket Administration (DDCA) controversy for the first time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday told BJP lawmakers that Finance Minister Arun Jaitley would "come through with flying colours," from the controversy.
"Arun Jaitley will come through with flying colours in the same manner as LK Advani did in Hawala case," the Prime Minister said at a weekly meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Party.
The Prime Minister also said that the Congress is raking up manufactured allegations to defame the government, said Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu, quoting Modi.
Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court has issued a notice to CM Arvind Kejriwal and five AAP leaders on a defamation suit filed by Jaitley against them.
The political slugfest over DDCA affairs intensified on Monday after Finance Minister Arun Jaitley filed a criminal defamation complaint against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and five other leaders of AAP for allegedly defaming him in the DDCA controversy before a Delhi court which took cognisance on his plea.
Escalating the issue, BJP MP Kirti Azad, who has been indirectly cornering Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, late on Monday night called Jaitley a 'napunsak' in a tweet. However, later he claimed his Twitter account had been hacked.
The one member Commission of Enquiry will be headed by former Solicitor General Gopal Subramanium.
Meanwhile, undeterred by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's decision to slap civil defamation cases against Arvind Kejriwal and his AAP colleagues for allegedly defaming him in connection with the DDCA controversy, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday said it is neither 'scared' nor 'threatened'.
