Five jawans were injured on Thursday after militants attacked CRPF vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag. 

The attack took place between Anantnag bus stand and GPO at around 8:45 am.

CRPF spokesperson said that the vehicle was coming from Jammu when the attack took place.

Unidentified militants fired upon a bus belonging to 96 bn CRPF leaving two jawans with bullet injury and three others with minor injury.

Injured jawans were rushed to the district hospital and their condition is stable.

Security forces have launched a search operation.

Last month, militants had attacked a CRPF vehicle in busy Sanat Nagar area of Srinagar.

On October 16, in a crackdown on terror module, the Security forces arrested two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and on Hizbul Mujahideen militant in Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier, two Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) top commanders including a prime recruiter in an encounter at Litter village of South Kashmir's Pulwama district were killed.

In another encounter, a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) commander was killed in an encounter in Ladoora area of Baramulla.
