Congress leaders condemned the ruling government for its inability to control the rising inflation even as the rail fares will increase from Wednesday.

Criticising Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for making false claims, senior Congress leader Motilal Vora said, "The good days have come. These were the goods which we were waiting for, sugar, diesel, petrol everything is becoming expensive. Within one month the BJP government has been exposed. They made false claims and promises".

Meanwhile, another senior congress leader Rashid Alvi added that according to him so far the ruling government has not taken any step to hold the rising inflation.

"Till now I haven't seen any positive measures by the government to control inflation. It's not possible to control inflation by increasing, rail fare or diesel fare. Therefore I don't think that the government is heading towards the direction of reducing inflation," said Alvi.

The rail passenger fares have been hiked by 14.2% and freight rates by 6.5%. The decision has been witnessing protests all across the country since the day it was announced.
