Susheel Kumar, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) leader from Hyderabad University on Friday demanded a judicial probe in the suicide of Rohith Vemula.

The ABVP leader and his group stated that they were taking press conferences across country to clear the air that ABVP is not against Dalits.

"Rahul Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal and others have made this into a Dalit v/s non-Dalit issue. Rohith was not the kind of person to commit suicide. Our ideologies did not match but we were friends. There should be fair probe. It can be a judicial probe or CBI," said Kumar. Kumar also added that Vemula and his organisation Ambedkar Students Association (ASA) had "violent tendencies".

"ASA had beaten up students from other organisations including Dalit Students Union. They had the tendency of entering hostel rooms in the night and fighting," claimed Kumar who stated that the appendicitis operation he had to undergo was due to the pressure caused after the scuffle between him and ASA.

ABVP distributed print out that claimed Dalit Students Union had also slammed ASA's violent ways by putting a picture and post where in they criticsed ASA. Interestingly the said information was not mentioned on DSU's facebook page. Kumar also circulated pictures of the protest he claimed were undertaken by ASA that were considered against nation. These included Namaaz-E-Janaaza for Yakub Menon where in Kumar claimed that members of ASA carried posters which stated that "Tum Kitne Yakub Maroge, Har Ghar Se Yakub Niklega". The ABVP which calls itself "patriotic students of nation" said that they did not want "another Yakub to be produced". The pictures, however, are not on the facebook page anymore. "They have been deleted," claimed Kumar. Claiming to be the one at the receiving end, He even showed a video claiming that in fact it was Kumar's mother who was abused inside the vice-chancellor's chamber, when they had gone to complain the scuffle.

Kumar reiterated his statements made in Delhi that questioned why no one got to know that Vemula was in depression and how despite being moved out was in his hostel. "What made him get into depression also needs to be probed," said Kumar. While criticising Rahul and Kejriwal's visit, Vemula defended intervention from Bandaru Dattatreya, the union minister who wrote several letters wanting to know the action taken on ASA students. "I do not see anything bad when national leaders intervene," said Kumar of the leader whose intervening has come into severe criticism.
