West Bengal has recorded 62.25% voting till 1 pm in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections. But the polling hasn't gone unscathed by allegations of violence. The Left Front has alleged that four voters have been seriously injured due to an attack on a polling booth in Sadaipur in Birbhum.

Earlier today, Communist Party of India-Marxist's Bolpur candidate Ramchandra Dome said, "The Trinamool has been running havoc in booths across five assembly constituencies of Ketugram, Mangalkot, Ausgram, Nanoor and Labhpur. Booths have been captured, voters attacked and our polling agents driven out.

Trinamool is desperate to turn the polls in their favour." He said that he has approached the Election Commission (EC) to seek repolling in approximately 100 booths.

Alleging that the TMC workers were responsible for attacking voters and capturing booths, Saidul Haque. CPI-M's  Bardhaman Durgapur candidate even staged a demonstration at the District Magistrate's office in order to get the administration to intervene. "We all have seen how Trinamool goons attacked one of our voters. He is now admitted in a hospital in a serious condition," said Haque, claiming that the attack was captured and telecast by news channels.

The Left Front believes that much of the polling has taken place in the absence of security forces and has decided to send a delegation under Sitaram Yechury to meet EC members in New Delhi.
