Clarify Line of Actual Control for peace and stability, PM Narendra Modi tells China

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that there is a need to clarify the Line of Actual Control (LAC) for peace and stability between India and China. Addressing the media along with Chinese President Xi Jingping after holding delegation-level talks at Hyderabad House here, Prime Minister Modi said there is a need to address early the boundary question .

The Prime Minister said that he has requested the Chinese President to resume the stalled process of clarifying the Line of Actual Control. "I have expressed concern over what has happened on the borders and said that we need to solve the issue," he added. Prime Minister Modi further said that he also discussed India's concerns relating to China's visa policy and Trans-Border Rivers.

"Early resolution would enhance mutual trust," he added. Asserting that a peaceful and stable neighbourhood is in everyone's interest, Prime Minister Modi said, "We also had good discussions on regional and international issues." Prime Minister Modi also thanked the Chinese President on behalf of the people of India for agreeing for a new road to open for Kailash Mansarovar from Nathu La.
