US President Donald Trump has asked the World Bank not to lend money to China as the country already has enough of it.

President Trump wrote on Twitter, "Why is the World Bank loaning money to China? Can this be possible? China has plenty of money, and if they don't, they create it. STOP!"

Not only Trump, but his treasury secretary Steven Mnuchin had also reiterated the same to the House of Representatives Committee saying US had objected to the institutions' multi-year program of loans and projects in China.

It also reiterated that Chima, which is world's second-largest economy has enough money to finance itself and should not depend on the World Bank.

US President's comments have come amid Washington-Beijing trade war.

The trade war has affected businesses all over the world and disrupted supply chains. Trump recently urged US companies to move their operations out of China, but it was not clear how or whether his efforts to order such a move would work.

Vice Premier Liu, Xi's top economic adviser said, "We welcome enterprises from all over the world, including the United States, to invest and operate in China."

"We will continue to create a good investment environment, protect intellectual property rights, promote the development of smart intelligent industries with our market open, resolutely oppose technological blockades and protectionism, and strive to protect the completeness of the supply chain."

US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has previously said Trump could order companies out of China under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act if he declared a national emergency.

Chinese state media had earlier hit out at the United States. The official China Daily said Washington would "never be allowed to control China's fate".
