Chennai mother poisons children, commits suicide

A woman in Chennai allegedly poisoned her children and then committed suicide by consuming the same poison-laced beverage, police said on Tuesday.

According to police, the 36-year-old woman returned to her home following a quarrel with her husband, a construction labourer, a few days ago. She allegedly gave a poison-laced beverage to the children, two boys and a girl on Monday night. While the three children died on the spot, the woman passed away at a Government Hospital.

A case has been registered following a complaint from her father.
