In a move to open up the digital campaigning space to Indian citizens, social platform Change.org launched its website in Hindi on Friday, October 2.

Preethi Herman, India's Lead for the website said, "Launching Change.org Hindi on Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary is the biggest tribute to the concept that every person can create positive social change."

She further added that it is essential that the digital space is available in all regional languages to promote the Digital India initiative.

"Making Change.org available in Hindi will allow a large number of Indians to participate in their quest for change and transformation," said Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Member of Parliament.

The website has over 30 lakh users that includes politicians and celebrities who support campaigns on it. Users campaign for issues like road safety, net neutrality, rape laws, voting rights, freedom of expression, etc.
