Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said here on Thursday that it was true that certain forces were trying to destabilise peace and tranquility in the country by building an unpleasant environment to craft obstacles in India's development.

"It is true that certain forces are trying to destabilise peace and tranquility in the country by building unpleasant environment as a measure to craft obstacle in our development," the Home Minister said on the occasion of National Security Guard's 30th Raising Day Celebrations.

Singh also added that joint efforts were required at the international level to deal with the threat of terrorism.

"Terrorism and separatism is not limited to just our country, so joint efforts are required at international level to deal with these. We are ready to stand united with other countries of the world to fight against terrorism," he said.

Expressing complete faith in the soldiers of NSG, Singh said, "Our NSG commandos and Jawans are fully equipped and capable to deal with terrorists and other anti-national forces."

The Home Minister also announced that his ministry had recently raised the amount for arms and ammunition from Rs 5 crore to Rs 20 crore.

He also said that the allotted amount for machinery has been raised to Rs 20 crores, from previous Rs 8 crore and for computer and peripheral items has been lifted up to Rs 1 crore from Rs 50 lakhs.

Hoping that more efforts will be made to increase the numbers of female commandos, Singh said, "For equipments required prior to admission in NSG, the budget has been leveled up to Rs 2 crore from Rs 50 lakhs."
