The Centre has called for an all-party meeting on Thursday, a day ahead of the beginning of the Winter Session of the Parliament. The meet, called for by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar, will be held at the Parliament Library in order to prepare a roadmap for the Session, which ends on January 5.

Kumar had asked for the cooperation from across parties, specially from the Opposition, so that the session could carry on uninterrupted. The Centre has come under increasing attacks from the Opposition after the Winter Session of the Parliament was delayed because of the Gujarat polls.

There are several significant bills that are up for this session. These include the bill on triple talaq and another on the constitutional status to the backward class commission.

The Opposition, on the other hand, is convening its own members on the same day at the Parliament office of its senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad. The Congress is likely to send senior members including Anand Sharma, Mallikarjun Kharge, apart from Azad to the meet.
