Cabniet exapansion on cards

The 45-member Narendra Modi government is all set for an expansion soon. "The ministry of defence is an important ministry and hopefully it should get ministerial head in the next couple of weeks after expansion of the cabinet....'' said finance minister Arun Jaitley, who also holds the defence portfolio. Jaitley, who is one of the most important ministers in the Modi cabinet, holds two portfolios in the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), chaired by the prime minister.

The other two ministers are home minister Rajnath Singh and external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj. "I have just spent four hours in the afternoon in the defence ministry. There is a lot of work to do,'' Jaitley told reporters.
